For data exchange between your Acer N310 and your computer (Windows 2000, ME, XP, Vista, Linux, Unix, Mac OS X, etc.), you may purchase a N310 USB or Serial Cable, and try to retrieve data by yourself; the Internet is full of forums and helpful websites that may help you find the correct driver and software (if your PC has a COM/RS232 port, we recommend the Serial Cable for data retrieval, since it needs no drivers, only the application software).

If you need to use your Phone As a Modem, (tethering applications), your Service Provider will almost surely be able to give you the correct driver and application software free of charge (for example, Sprint PCS calls this P.A.M., and provides the drivers and dialer on their website for free download). Using your cell phone or smart device to connect to the internet is also known as DUN (Dial Up Networking). For Modem applications with the N310, we recommend a USB Cable in most cases. Whether you're using your N310 mostly for cellular calls or as a Modem, you will enjoy an external antenna to reduce or even eliminate dropped calls. Our most powerful antenna has a maximum gain of about 11dBi and is mostly for use at home, since it is 4.5 feet tall, although it may be used on a vehicle (or boat) as well. We also have a much lighter antenna solution for your vehicle, although it won't have as much gain (this "lighter" solution is not recommended for use at home).

If you need a drastic reception and transmission improvement, even in areas where there is almost no cellular signal, our Active Wireless Amplifier is what we recommend. It's very easy to use and will work with all cellular (CDMA, GSM, PCS) devices, because of its universal coupling adapter (we also have iDEN/PTT cellular amplifiers if you have such device).
